A lovely flat water session in the Estuary. I first tried to find someone to go out with later in the day from the Lifeboat Station, but no one wanted to so I decided to sail in the estuary instead. I got there at high tide and found AndyW and Jules had just arrived.

I quickly rigged a 5m and got out there while Andy rigged his 5.3. I was completely maxed out on the 5m, when Andy came out the wind picked up even more, so we both went in and changed down to 4.5m sails instead. This was just perfect. Not quite enough wind in the lee of the dunes so we sailed out towards the point and away from the shelter of the dunes where we had an excellent session. Well powered up the whole time and the relatively flat water led to some mad speed runs with crazy flat out gybes at the end of them.

Just perfect.

Just as I was about to call it a day a guy sailed over from Aberdovey, so I stayed out a little longer, but once he was joined by 3 other people from Aberdovey Andy and I packed up as the water was receeding fast.

Derek was out kite-surfing off the seafront later in the day.
